SCIAMACHY and GOME-2 support for TC4Introduction Data Links Contact

The NASA TC4 (Tropical Composition, Cloud and Climate
Coupling) mission will investigate the structure, properties and processes
in the tropical Eastern Pacific. A-train satellite observations provide
crucial information on the spatial and temporal variations of this region,
however, carefully planned TC4 aircraft observations are required, both to
validate satellite data and to provide critical observations not available
from the satellites. High altitude aircraft will collect tropopause data
while the medium altitude aircraft will provide profiles and structure
measurements of the tropical upper troposphere and lower stratosphere.
More information on the campaign is available on the TC4 home page. |
The IUP-Bremen provides near realtime tropospheric NO2 columns for the project to support flight planning and quick look interpretation. Data from two satellite instruments, SCIAMACHY and GOME-2 are used. All plots are produced automatically and without explicit quality control. Usually, the SCIAMACHY plots should be available 2 hours after measurement while the GOME-2 plots are produced each morning at about 10 UT. If you experience any problems, please contact Andreas Richter or Joana Leitao.

GOME-2 is still in commissioning phase and any GOME-2 products have to be seen as preliminary. The products shown here are derived at the IUP Bremen. They are based on lv1 data provided by EUMETSAT but are not official GOME-2 data products.
More data is available in our group off-line. If you have any requests, please contact Andreas Richter.
More on SCIAMACHY tropospheric NO2 can be found on our SCIAMACHY NO2 page.
Many SCIAMACHY related links can be found on the German SCIAMACHY page.
If you are interested in more information or SCIAMACHY and GOME-2 tropospheric data, please contact Andreas Richter.
